We need teens & families to help us canvass in Griffith Saturday

Youth As Resources To Canvass Saturday For Storm Relief

The Crisis Center's Youth Development program is recruiting teens to help with a canvassing effort in Griffith for the residents affected by the recent tornado.

The event is Saturday August 16th @ 4:00pm  in Griffith  (meeting at Aurelio's pizza)

-help us canvass the neighborhood with information and help.

-Meet afterwards for free pizza!

-Wear comfortable shoes

Safe Place - Partnering with Lake County businesses to give youth a 'safe place to go' when faced with a potential crisis.

Youth As Resources - Teen advisory board gives youth the power and money to influence thier peers.

Reassurance Contact - Weekly wellness checks (free) for the elderly, disabled, and home-bound.

Safe Place Expansion Moving Forward

NEW!Plans to expand the Crisis Center's Safe Place program into Porter County have begun.

Current partners in Lake County, who have satellite offices in the City of Portage are being recruited in the initial phase.

Additional business & public locations will be recruited as the program unfolds.

"This just means there's more opportunity to help kids," said the Safe Place program coordinator, Nikki Wielgos.
